Wava J. Best is a native Nebraskan and resides in the city of North Platte, Nebraska. Her husband, Tom, is a retired educator. They have three daughters and seven grand children. Wava is a two and three dimensional artist. Her background includes studies at Mid-Plains Community College, North Platte, NE and Idaho State University, Pocatello Idaho. She has also taken workshops from nationally recognized artisits and completed the Famous artist course from Westport, Connecticut. Her hobbies include travel, golf and composing poems and music. Wava is currently a studio artist with emphasis in clay and clay sculpture.

"Clay is my major media. Selecting texture and color to enhance the clay is challenging. The motivation behind the challenge is knowing the selection willl bring the viewer in closer contact with my work. My visual statement, whether in a painting or in a clay piece gives me great satisfaction. I hope to evoke a sense of intrique within the viewer."
